The ADC Movement for a New Nigeria, a progressive political movement aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has successfully held its South-South Zonal Conference and inauguration, marking a significant step toward strengthening the party’s grassroots base in the region.
On Saturday, 31st January 2026, the movement officially inaugurated its Akwa Ibom State and Cross River State chapters, an event that drew national officers, zonal delegates, and party executives from across the South-South geopolitical zone.
Earlier in the day, the national leadership of the ADC Movement for a New Nigeria, led by the National Coordinator, Amb. Chris Akpan, paid a courtesy visit to the ADC Akwa Ibom State Party Secretariat.
The delegation was warmly received by the State Chairman, Rt. Hon. Duke Gabriel Dick, alongside members of the State Executive Committee.
While welcoming the delegation, Rt. Hon. Duke Gabriel Dick reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity, inclusiveness, and collective growth, assuring the movement of full cooperation and integration into the existing ADC party structures in Akwa Ibom State.
The conference recorded strong participation from national officers and delegates representing Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States, as well as members of the ADC Akwa Ibom State Executive Council.
He emphasized that ADC remains a disciplined and progressive platform open to credible movements genuinely committed to rescuing Nigeria.
The turnout highlighted the growing influence of ADC and its allied movements across the South-South region.
In their remarks, leaders of the movement pledged full support and loyalty to the recognized ADC party structures, noting that their objective is to strengthen, not undermine, the party as it prepares for future political engagements, particularly the 2027 general elections.
The event was described as peaceful, well-organized, and highly successful, further consolidating ADC’s position as a credible political alternative and reinforcing the party’s resolve to deepen grassroots mobilization across the region.
